PAYMENT ENFORCED.

CLAIM AGAINST HAYTI.

FOREIGN MINISTER RESIGNS.

By Cable.- —Press Association.—Copyright, PORT-AU-PRINCE, May 6.

The National Bank lent, the Government the necessary amount to settle the British claim on behalf of a subject who lost his property during the recent revolution.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs resigned owing to Cabinet difficulties over the debt. There was much consternation after Congress adjourned without reaching a decision, as it was thought that British bluejackets would be landed. The Government had, however, ordered payment to be made, and the incident closed.
