ON A LONELY ISLAND.
A NEW ZEALAND DREYFUS.
AH ILLUSION EXPOSED.
By Cable.—Press , Association.—-Copyright, J , LONDON, May 7.
The Hop. > T- Mackenzie, in a long letter, refutes the statements contained in an article contributed to. the '' Daily News" by. Wolrrall, a New Zealander, alleging ill-treatment in connection with the Dominion ? s compulsory service scheme.
Mr Mackenzie says that Worrall apparently. wished to convey the impression that his son was treated like Dreyfus, imprisoned in a lonely island fortress far away from civilisation, whereas the fort in which he was imprisoned is situated at Lyttelton Harbour.
Mr Mackenzie concludes his letter as follows:r M The bulk of the so-called objectors are entirely unfit for our vigorous country.'' 9
