"CUT YOUR PRICES."

CANADA'S TIMBER TRADE. THE COMMISSIONEB'S APPEAL. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Received May 5, 1.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 4. Mr W. A. Beddoe, the Trade Commissioner to New Zealand, points out that the United States supplied nearly the whole of the timber New Zealand imported during the year. The fact that Canada's prices were higher than American is believed to be the cause. Mr Beddoe urges Canadian lumbermen to cut their prices in order to secure the valuable trade which is offered to them. Pacific Coast lumbermen assert that lumber is over-produced in the United States, and that this enables lumbermen there to dump their timber into New Zealand.
