The Glasgow Corporation has decided to undertake on its own account the accident insurances in Connection with the tramwaj'S, insurance companies having increased their premium from £II,OOO to £31,500 since 1908. The experience of Glasgow and Leeds has shown that self-insurance is 60 per cent, cheaper than company insurance.
