FARMERS' UNION.

SPRINGSTON. Mr W. MMutosh presided over a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Springston branch of the Farmers' Union. The report and balance-sheet \vr>vc adopted. The secretary announced that nine new members had recently been enrolled. Mr Andrew detailed the work carried out by the executive during the year, and. was accorded a vote of thanks for his services in this connection. Mr W. M'lntosh was elected president, Mr M. F.Byan vice-president, Mr Andrew delegate to the executive, and Mr J. W. Kime secretary and treasurer. The branch resolved to send the following remit to the approaching provincial conference:—"That this branch is in favour of the Union importing sacks of a standard si/.e suitable for all purposes."
