NAVAL ADVISER.

TO ARRIVE IN JUNE. Pres* Associ*tion. DUNEDIN, April IS. The Hon. Mr Allen left for Wellington this morning-, and returns next week, when he will meet Sir lan Hamilton at the Bluff. He states that Captain Hall-Thompson is expected to arrive in New Zealand in June, and that the Philomel will probably be handed over to New Zealand as a training ship in July. Applications for positions as cadets on the vessel, both for training as officers and ordinary seamen, are being received by the Government, and being filed until the adviser comes to New Zealand, when regulations will be drawn up.
