IMPURE FOOD.
Press Association. i WELLINGTON, April 17. "It certainly looks all right," commented Mr S.M., io-day, after having examined a sample of adulterated milk whieh contained 29 '.per cent, of water and onnotto. The milk was of exceptionally rich colour, due, it was stated, to the presence of onnotto. The sample was taken from the stock of a woman vendor, who was charged an two informations with selling adulterated milk. The defendant, who stated she was deceived by the colour of the liquid, swore she sold it in exactly the isanie condition as she received it. The prosecution stated that there was every reason to believe that what the woman said was true, but the onus of selling ,the milk -was on her. His Worship imposed a fine of £1 with costs 7/- in respect of ons and convicted and discharged def ertdl- - on tlfc other information.
