THE STOLEN LETTERS.
AN INCIDENT DENIED,

M. Caillaux, in his cross-examination, stated that M. Barthou toid him his (M. Caillaux's) former wife showed M. Barthou the stolen letters.
Yesterday M. Barthou denied the incident, and stated that he was unaware of the existence of the letters until M. Calmette's death.
CHARGE OF CORRUPTION.

At the magisterial enquiry, M. Vidal, the publicist, confirmed the statement that the intended to publish three of M. Caillaux's letters. He added that M. Calmette was seeking for evidence of M. Caillaux's * connection with the case of M. Prieu, a South American millionaire, whose heirs were claiming an estate from the French Government. M. Calmette alleged that M. Caillaux offered the heirs part of the estate if they would agree to M. Caillaux having the remainder.
