[On March 17 the Duma Committee of 'Agriculture and Finance adopted a tax. on. grain, peas, and beans, at the rate. of.-thirty kopeks per pood, as a counter measure to the veiled export bounties granted on German exports to Russia. A pood is equal to 401b, and the kopek is the equivalent of the English farthing.]
