.METHODIST "CHURCH. At a meeting of officials last evening the Rev A. Mitchell, superintendent of the circuit presided, and there was a fair attendance. A letter was received from the Rev. J. Willianjs, editor of the "Methodist Times," tendering his thanks for the> letter "of appreciation of his services rendered at the recent conference. The Rev. P. W. Fairclough wrote stating that he would be taking the pulpit in Kaiapoi, the first . Sunday after Easter. It was reported that there were 212 members on the roll. The income for the last quarter was £7l 11/10, the expenditure £6B 14/6. The Sunday Schools and Endeavour Society were reported to be in a flourishing condition. A resolution was carried to the effect that this being the last quarterly meeting which will be held under the Rev. A. Mitchell, this meeting places on record the useful services he has rendered, and wishing him Godspeed to his next circuit. The meeting wished him and his family every success. The next meeting will be held during the second week in July.
