AN EARLY MORNING CALL.

At 3.42 this morning the fire brigade was summoned to 340 St. Asaph Street, where fire was destroying a six-roomed one-storey wooden dwelling owned by Mr J. S. Barrett, and occupied by Mr James Trowbridge. The outbreak originated in an adjoining washhouse, but quickly spread to the main building, the 'interior of which was badly damaged before the fire.was got in.hand.- Considerable damage was also done to the furniture, which was uninsured, the greater portion being destroyed. The building was insured in the Victoria Insurance Company for £4OO.
