How pathetic he is when he talks about what, they have, done** for the workers. and how'they dfealt with us during "several strikes "with the utmost .leniency." Yes, ** they, were very lenient , with 'us after , - they, realised... our power. • It was, how- . ever, not in mercy they-dealt with us r but- in fear and trembling; When Ward thought he was strong enough to ignore us in the first butchers ' strike; ,we were fined and our wages impounded; and what did Mr Eussell say at Ashburton, last week? "If the Opposition "had '-• been ill power they would have been . forced to keep open the ports." Where, then, is the difference t between , Massey aiid Ward? The' Liberals- have swal- * lowed their principles on "the. land question. They voted toi a with Mas- >/ sey on the Labour Dispntes Bill. They have resurrected a LiberalJLabour organisatiori'' in. CJhi'istchUrfeh' tb rob us- df' ■* all they can of the Labour vote. They discussed recently in one of their prin- , eipal committees the .desirability "of , joining in some electorates with Reform to erush" the Social Democrats, and now they come cryingitotistrecairse wa have . no further use for them; They remind, one of the,j man who killed. Ms and*mother' and pleadedwiththe judge to have mercy on him because he was an 2-.>»V •• Liberal! iexception to us stating*that we intend to push his' party into! the Bankruptcy. Court .politically, and .pleads, past service. .
