TARANAKI OIL WELLS.

GOOD INDICATIONS. Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 7/ Strong gas indications have been experienced in the rotary bore of the Taranaki (New Zealand) Oil * Wells Company during the past few days, and lead to the hope that further developments will take place as the bore is carried deeper. Since Saturday the bore has been deepened nine feet. On Monday night, as sand-pumping operations were proceeding, there was a sudden outburst of gas and of oil, which was twice thrown over the top of the derrick. Early this morning another blow r out yielded fifteen barrels of pure oil. The force was so great that it disconnected the two-inch pipe leading to the tank outside the bore. Activity continued all day, and *the latest report from the manager is that the bore is freeing itself of mud and is getting into oil
