FIGURES FOR THE YEAR.

Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 7. The city tramway figures for the year ended March 31 give the following results: —Receipts: "Passengers' fares £147,046, luggage ,£1254, freight . car £540. These items, with advertising and mileage fees from the Karori and Miramar boroughs, made the total revenue £160,347; an increase of £BSOB on last year. The working expenses increased from £101,129 to £105,160, and with interest, sinking fund, and depreciation the total cost of the service was £144,917, compared with £139,936 in the previous year. The net surplus for the. year : was £15,4*30, against £11,903 in the previous year, but special expenditure on alterations to ears absorbed a large sum, leaving an actual net credit balance of £3894.
