SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
The monthly ceilidh of the Scottish Society was held in the society 's rooms last night, when a large gathering of members, with their wives and friends, assembled. Chieftain C. Macintosh presided, in the absence of Chief J. Macintosh, Avho is still unable to attend through illness. Piper , Ronald Fraser opened with a selection on the great Highland war pipe. . Items- musical were rendered by Mrs Gilmour (Lyttelton), a piiano solo of Scottish airs by Miss Cronin, and songs by. Messrs Walter Johnson, Robert Martin (Gaelic) and Crouch. Mrs Robb's recitation was highly appreciated. Solo dances Avere performed, the Highland fling by Miss Dorothy Ford, seann truibhais by Miss Clara Macintosh, gillie calum by Miss EMe Clark, and reels, etc., by members of the Juvenile Dancing Class were danced. Miss Bessie Macdonald was accompanist. >
