VILLA'S SUCCESS REPORTED.

Villa has captured "an outside po'ii tion,. and furious cannonading is proceeding. The whole of the surrounding country is protected by wire entanglements. Villa reports the capture of 300 prisoners. •'
HOW BENTON DIED.
BRITISH .CONSUL INVESTIGATES.
WASHINGTON, March 23.
Mr Perceval, the British Consul, in Texas, further reports that Mr BenLon disregarded the advice of his wife and friends, and. visited Villa unarmed* A scuffle occurred in Villa's office, and perfect quiet followed. The body later was removed. • The Consul infers that Benton was stabbed. He does not indicate who stabbed him, but it is thought likely that is was one of Villa's officers.
