Recent cables announced that the Budget Committee of the Diet had voted a reduction of £300,000 in the Naval Estimates, and again that the Budget - Committee in the Upper House had, by 48 votes to .7, recommended a reduction of £7,000,000. Subsequently it was reported that the Lower House ■, had rejected this latter recommendation.]
