Advices from Cdlombo show that a severe ov-tbreak of plague has occurred among the natives. A panic set in amongst certain sections of the native population, and a stampede to the south of India followed. In numerous cases men were found dying in the streets and other public places. Certain steamship companies have discontinued booking passengers to Singapore, and the Far East, and this being'the homeward season, is regarded seriously.
