A DEADLY PARCEL.
BOMB THROUGH THE POST. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 17. There is no clue to the perpetrator of the bomb outrage. The police ascertained that the parcel was posted in Sydney on Friday, and lay in the Melbourne Post Office all Saturday and Sunday. Mr Lee underwent an operation, and several brass pellets were removed from his hips and side. [Among the morning mail delivered at the office of the Lands Department in Melbourne on Monday was a package addressed to a member of the Closer Settlement Board. When the package was opened a loud explosion occurred, resulting in injuries to Mr Frederick Lee, a Closer Settlement Commissioner, Thomas llastie, and Reginald Jones. The room was partly wrecked. A window was smashed, and the ceiling shattered by brass pellets. The explosive material is supposed to haye been dynamite,, pperated by a hammer spring "and a percussion cap contained in a small wooden box.J
