NEW MEAT WORKS.
CHRISTCHURCH COMPANY'S ADDITIONS. Press Association. OAMARU, March 5. The official opening of the Christchurch Meat Company's new works at Pukeuri took place to-day. A luncheon, at which representatives of public bodies and the business and farming communities to the number of several hundreds were guests of the directors, was held to celebrate the occasion. The visitors included the Hon. W. Fraser, Minister of Public Works. The new works are capacious, with 90,000 ft of space, which will enable the company to handle up to 3000 lambs daily. The works are built to Sjuit the latest methods of treating r *'Bieat for .export, and will be a big factor in industrial life.
