SECRET BALLOT.
CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES. The result of the ballot to-day on the resolution passed at a special meeting held on March Ist, "That the union take the necessary steps to cite the Christchurch Tramway Board to appear before the Council of Conciliation for the purpose of having the dispute which has "arisen as to the hours of work, wages, and general working conditions settled," resulted as follows For .. .. 181 . Against .. .. 8 Informal .. .. 3 192 A ballot as to whether the union should take over from the board the assets and liabilities of the Tramways' Social and Sports Club resulted in 105 voting against and 73 for the proposal.
