OBITUARY.

Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 26. The death is reported of William Harden, aged 81, an old settler, late of Rangiora. DUNEDIN, February 26. Professor Scott, Dean of the Medical School at Otago University, and a member of the University Senate, is dead. The deceased .was ' secretary of the Otago Art Society and a member of the Otago Institute. The late Professor Scott was born in Edinburgh in 1851. In 1882 he married a daughter of the late John Bealey, of Canterbury. He was educated at Edinburgh University, where he took his medical degrees. In 1874 he was made a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and was later appointed housesurgeon to the Edinburgh Hospital and ,the Royal Infirmary at . Stirling. He was demonstrator o£ Anatomy at Edinburgh University, and in 1877 he accepted the Professorship of Anatomy at Otago University.
