OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB. Press Association. AUCKLAND,' February 25. The Otahuhu Trotting Club's Summer Meeting was opened at Alexandra Park this afternoon. The weather was dull and rain fell late in the afternoon, but the track was in good order. Some first-class racing was witnessed, nearly all the events being closely contested. A sum of £10,507 10/- was passed through the totalisator, as against £7732 10/- on the first day of iast year's meeting. The following are the details of the racing:— SPECIAL HANDICAP (in harness), of 75 sovs. One mile and a-half. —(3) Nut Ansel 12sec (J. Teddy, jun.) 1, (6) Miss Marvin Downs 3sec 2, (1) Lucknow 12sec 3. Also started: (4) Lady Doctor 3sec, (8) King Capitalist 3sec, (7) Bronze Bell 4sec, (9) Broadleaf 6sec, (2) Blackthorn 12sec, (14) Calcutta 12sec, (4) Proud Child Junior 12sec, (11) Templeton 13sec, (5) Papatina 13sec, (12) Ayrshire Lad 15sec, and (13) William Victor 15sec. Won by four lengths, with a similar distance between second and third horses. Time, 4min 2sec. NEWMARKET HANDICAP (in saddle), of 75 soVs. Time, 3min 54sec. GOVERNOR'S HANDICAP (in saddle), of 100 sovs. Two miles. — (2) Kirikiriroa 7sec (Hird) and (3) Craibwood 4sec (Julian) dead heat 1, (1) Specialty 6sec 3. Also started: (4) Scotia scratch, and (5) Lady Specialist ssec. Craibwood led by two lengths from Kirikiriroa entering the straight but broke, and Kirikiriroa shot ahead. A fine finish ended —the two horses passing the post together, Speciality being six lengths away, third. SYLVIA PARK'HANDICAP (in harness), of 100 sovs. One mile and a-half. —(1) Alexandra Park 6sec (Adams) 1, (2) Sundial Bsec 2, (4) Lady Wilmington ssec 3.
