NEW HEBRIDES SITUATION. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. LONDON, February 19. Sir Edward Grey, replying to Sir Gilbert Parker, said that the Government had been informed that the con'dominium in the New Hebrides was not working very satisfactorily with regard to criminal judgments. >The Government was in negotiation with France with a view to revising the arrangement. AWAKE, AUSTRALIA! AN ALARMING REPORT. —-; (Received February 21y 10.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 21. The Rev; Mr Faton, foreign mission secretary to the Presbyterian Church, has received the following cable from London::— "Well-informed sources .indicate the possibility of the Condominium being ended by the cessidn of the New Hebrides to France, as part of a larger settlement with that eoun- . try. Australian /action imperative. " . Mr Paton, in an interview, said the cable came from .an unimpeachable source, and was a call for. fresh effort. He added: "We are taking every step possible to place ,the gravity of the position before the authorities."
