TWO BRIGHT TALKIES A real all-youth cast is seen in “The Forward Pass,” the First National and Vitaphone aii-dialogue picture of College life, which comes to the Strand Theatre today, I-oretta Young, who plays the fem- ! inine lead, ia only 17, and Douglas Fairbanks. jun., who plays opposite her, is lust 21. Other youngsters who are in the cast are '"Peanuts” Byron, Phyllis Crane, Dorothy Gulliver, and a host of college boys, including the Loretta Young entire football team of the University of Southern Califor--11 “The Forward Pass” is a story of college love and football rivalry, and the football thrills are varied by plenty of comedy and a number of very snappy songs. Mary Nolan finds an ideal vehicle for her exotic beauty and remarkable talents in “l'ourc Desire,” Universal’s colourful romantic drama, which is the second feature this evening. .
