BRITISH AIRCRAFT ENGINES POPULAR OVERSEAS LESSONS OF SPEED FLIGHTS British Official Wireless RUGBY, Tuesday. The latest figures show that Britain a'.ready is exporting more aircraft and air engines than any other , country. Not only are British light machines being sold all over the world, but tile industry is busy with orders for big multi-engined airplanes and flying-boats. A striking proof of the esteem in which British aircraft are held overseas was provided when France—although she is one of the leading aircraft producing countries—after extensive tests ordered British flving-boats with British engines for her naval air service. The largest and most powerful water-cooled and air-cooled engines yet in production are now being made in Britain. It, is stated that much of the recent advance in British design is due to the incorporation of the lessons learned in building the racing machines which won for Britain the Schneider Cup and enabled her to establish the world’s air speed record of 357.7 miles an hour.
