BRITAIN’S LATEST CRUISER IN COMMISSION FOR ATLANTIC FLEET British. Ofjlcial 'Wireless RUGBY. Tuesday. The new 10,000-ton cruiser Dorsetshire is to be commissioned today at Portsmouth. She is to replace the Frobisher in the Second Cruiser Squadron of the Atlantic Fleet. All 13 of the 10.000-ton cruisers allowed Britain under the London Naval Treaty have now passed into the service. They are of the same general design but differ in detail. The seven ships of the Kent class were designed for a speed of 31.5 knots, but have exceeded that figure in service. The remaining six of the London and Dorsetshire classes have a nominal speed of 32J knots. They all carry a main armament of eight 8-inch guns.
