NATIONAL

“SWING HIGH” Described as the most ambitious film attempted by the Pathe Studios since the advent of the talking picture, “Swing High,” the current attraction at the National Theatre, is produced on an elaborate scale. Tho glamour and uncertainty of life in tho circus ring forms a colourful background for a picture rich in tense drama and pathos. Some remarkable scenes during the course of a performance are shown, the feats of skill and daring on the trapeze being particularly effective. A series of dramatic incidents reaches a gripping climax when a trapeze artist, disappointed by the shallowness of her former lover, lets herself fall from the heights of tho circus tent and is seriously injured. The notable cast includes Helen Twelvetrees, Fred Scott, Chester Conklin and Ben Turpin. Two or three entertaining* talkie Items are also being presented.
