THREE NEW STOPS
LIMITED'S ALTERED SCHEDULE BENEFIT TO TE AWAMUTU With the opening of Auckland's new railway station and the inaugration of passenger services on the Westfield deviation, there will be an overhaul of the schedule of the Limited expresses. Chief among the changes to be made will be stops at Te Kuiti and Te Awamutu. Residents of Te Awamutu, particularly, have been agitating for some time for the Limited to stop there as it would then be possible to leave for Auckland at 6.30 a.m., spending a whole day in the City, and arriving back at Te Awamutu shortly after 10 at night. Catching the ordinary express to Auckland, it would be necessary to board the train at 3.30 a.m. These two new stops will probably mean that the Limited will leave at 7 p.m., ten minutes earlier than at present, and arrive in Auckland at 9.45 a.m., 13 minutes later than by the present schedule.
Another alteration which will come into force when the new time-table is printed will be a stop by the southbound Limited at Paekakariki for refreshments at about 5.30 a.m.
