MAORI GIRL DROWNED

FALL INTO DRAIN SUFFERED FROM FITS From Our Own Correspondent MATAMATA, Tuesday. A young Maori girl, Annie Pihama, of Okaiua, was found drowned in a drain on Monday afternoon. The girl suffered from fits and had apparently fallen face downward into the drain, in which there was a few inches of water.

At the inquest held today before Mr. J. F. Snell, coroner, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned.
