Singles will be played at 10 a.m., and four-ball games at 1.20 p.m. AUCKLAND LADIES’ CLUB The Auckland. Ladies* Golf Club championships were commenced at Middlemoro yesterday in fine but -windy weather. The course was in splendid order. Following are tho results of matches played:— Senior Championship.—First round: Mrs. Hodges beat Mrs. Craven, 6 apd 5: Miss Moginie beat Mrs. Rainger. 5 and 4; Miss L. Cutfield beat Mrs. Rutherford, 2 and 1; Miss Hamlin beat Mrs. Endean, 7 and 5; Mrs. Hughes beat Mrs. Abbott, 1 up: Miss McCormick beat Mrs. Croft. 1 up; Mrs. Ferguson beat Miss E. Mahoney, 0 and 5; Miss Culling beat Miss 11. Cutfield, 3 and 1; Mrs. Wright beat Miss McGovern, 2 up. Second round: Miss Upton beat Miss M. Macfarlane, 1 up at tho twentieth. Junior Championship.—First round: Mrs. Campbell beat Mrs. Frater, 3 and 2; Miss L. Roberton beat Mrs. Brown. 4 and 3; Miss Lever beat Mrs. Ralph, 3 and 2; Miss Graham beat Miss Porter, 1 up at the nineteenth. Second round: Mrs. Grant beat Mrs. Miller, 4 and 3; MrsA S. Hanna beat Miss Rainger, 1 up at the twentieth. The second round must be played by Tuesday next. MAUNGAKIEKI E LADIES’ CLUB Following is the result of the L.G.U. medal handicap match played by members of the Maungakiekie Ladies’ Golf Club at One Tree Hill yesterday:— Seniors.—Mrs. O’Leary, 89, 13—76; Miss Stubbs, 94, 18 —76; Miss G. Parr, 97, IS — 79; Miss M. Miller, 98, 17—81; Miss A. Grove. 95. 12—S3. Juniors.—Mrs. Fraser, 101, 29—72; Mrs. O’Neill, 103, 36—72; Miss M. Haslett, 93, 19—74; Mrs. Malcolm, 98, 24—74: Mrs. Brown. 100, 24—76; Mrs. Jerrat, 101, 25 76; Mrs. Broughton. 102, 26—76. The play-off in the last L.G.U. match between Mrs. Broughton and Mrs. Joplin was won by the former. A flag match in which opponents will be drawn, on Tuesday next will be held in place of the match play foursomes which have been postponed on account of the Hamilton tournament. MANUREWA CLUB Following are the results of matches in the championship of the Manurewa Golf Club: Galloway beat White, 1 up; Adlam beat Edgley, 4 and 2; Barnard won by default. In the semi-final, Barnard plays Adlam, the -winner to meet Galloway.
