“NOT WORTH TWOPENCE”
LABOUR MEMBERS SURVEY ARBITRATION BILL ALTERED BY SENATE CANBERRA, Tuesday. The Conciliation Council and Arbitration Bill, which was amended almost out of recognition by the Senate, was passed by that Chamber today. Labour members declared that the Bill was not now worth twopence. Mr. H. S. W. Lawson, Nationalist Member for Wlghtmau, said the giving of arbitral powers to conciliation commissioners, as was provided in the Bill, was a fundamental error which would impede the arbitration Machinery.
