•His Excellency the Governor-Gon-rai Lord Bledisloe, was yesterday elected an honorary member of the Wellington Rotary Club. He will soon attend a luncheon o£ the club. Mr C. M. Croft, Canadian Trade Commissioner, is visiting Wellington. The Hon. C. .T. Carrington, M.L.C.. and Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P., left for ■Wellington last evening. The Rev. C. B. W. Seton, of Otahuhu, is seriously ill and has been gent to hospital for treatment. ■\lr. \V. 11. Cummer and Mr. C. R. Ford returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Li. W. Robertson, railways locomotive engineer for the North Island, has gone on leave. Mr. S. H. Jenkinson, of Wellington, is relieving him. Dr. Evarts A. Graham, the eminent American surgeon, who has been lecturing in Australia, arrived n Auckland this morning and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Edgar Stead, of Christchurch, accompanied by Mrs. Stead, has returned to Auckland from a trip to the Pay of Islands. They are staying at the Grand Hotel, and will leave- for the South this evening. Commodore Geoffrey Blake left for Wellington last evening to join H.M.S. ptmedln on Saturday, before the cruiser begins a three months’ trip to Southern ports. Mr. C. V. Houghton was re-elected chairman, and Sir Alfred Bankart vicechairman. of the New Zealand Insurance Company, at a meeting of directors following the annual meeting yesterday. Sir Hugh P. Allen, director of the Royal College of Music, and a member of the Associated Board, R.A.M. and K.C.M., who is returning to England from Australia, arrived from Sydney, via Wellington, this morning. He is staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. H. I. Austad, chairman of the council of the New' Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, will leave for America and the Continent in about three weeks’ time on a six months’ business trip. He was riven power at a recent meeting of the council to act in an official representative capacity in meeting other organisations abroad. The Rev. J. R. Milne, formerly superintendent of the St. Albans Methodist circuit, Christchurch, was appointed lust month by the British Wesleyan Conference to take charge of an important church at Watford, just outside London.
