FOR OCEAN FLIGHTS

USE OF BIG AIRSHIPS ON REGULAR RUN RIOO NOT SUITABLE Reed. 10.50 a.m. MONTREAL, Mon. Airships of the type of RIOO never can compete with the present methods of transportation over short distances, but will come into their own when there are oceans to be covered, WingCommander R. B. B. Colmore told the Canadian Club in an address today. He thought the lesson learned from tlie flight of RIOO from England to Canada was that larger airships were required to make commercial ocean flights successful. They would be able to carry more fuel, enabling a dirigible to maintain a uniform speed of 70 knots. RIOO could not do this.
