QUANTITIES FOR MARKETS IN ENGLAND PRESENT SALES DULL Cabled advice to the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board from London announces the shipments of meat'from New Zealand, South America and Australia to the United Kingdom during June. The returns are: New Zealand: Carcases of mutton, 154,882; carcases of lamb, 695,889; quarters of beef, 1,248. South America: Carcases of mutton, 263,278; carcases of lardb, 474,460; quarters of beef (frozen), 2,877; quarters of beef (chilled), 469,746. . Australia: Carcases of mutton, 20,565; carcases of lamb, 92,067; quarters of beef, 109,279. Included in the figures for South America are 208,288 carcases of lamb and 199,496 carcases of mutton from Patagonia. During the same period the shipments of South American meat to the Continent of Europe were: Mutton, 1,82 S tons; frozen beef, 3,860 tons. Prices on the frozen meat market in London were reported by cable to Dalgety and Company, Limited, on July 17. The market for New Zealand lamb is weaker, with a moderate demand. Mutton is weaker, too, under a poor inquiry. New Zealand beef is on a nominal market and a similar position applies to sales of New Zealand pork, which is in poor demand owing to the warm weather.
