HORSES KILLED IN FIRE
TRAPPED IN BURNING STABLES OUTBREAK NEAR GORE Press Association INVERCARGILL, Monday. Six farm horses were burned to death when fire broke out in some stables on the property of Mr. E. A. Clement, at Conical Hills, 20 miles from Gore. It is stated that a lighted lantern was left hanging in the stables, and that this must have exploded or in some other manner set fire to the roof. The building was soon a raging inferno. In addition to the horses and stables, some harness and a quantity of chaff were destroyed.
