LOSING WEEK S WAGES

RAILWAY MEN OBJECT The following resolution was passed a meeting of railway signalmen and storemen held in Auckland yesterday to discuss the question of employment in the railway service. “That this representative meeting of signalmen and storemen strongly protests against the suggestion that members of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants should forfeit one week’s wages in order to assist the Government out of its difficulty. We suggest as an alternative that all incomes over £3OO a year should be taxed on a graduated basis for the purpose of providing the Government with the necessary finance.” »
