BROADCAST FROM TRAIN

N.Z. FARMERS’ PARTY Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The General Manager of the New Zealand Railways, Mr. IT. H. Sterling, has received the following cablegram from the Railway Commissioner in Victoria, dated Melbourne, July 7: —“The New Zealand farmers’ party will broadcast messages from a railway observation car at 8 p.m. Melbourne time on Sunday, through the station 3LO.’’ This will be the second time* the experiment of broadcasting from a train has been tried in Australia. When the Great White Train toured Australia about four years ago advertising the Commonwealth’s agricultural products, a plant was carried which broadcast concerts and lectures, some of which were picked up in New Zealand.
