Cheery Dinner
MEMBERS OF HOCKEY ASSOCIATION HONOUR LIFE-MEMBERS
MUSICAL programme: On Saturday evening last many members of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association attendad a dinner at the Albert Hotel for the purpose of honouring the association’s two life members, Mesdames W. Fuller and R. H. Cowen, who were presented with their life member's badges by Mr. L. C. Kent, president of the association. The tables were very artistically decorated by Mrs. Webber with large bowls of Iceland poppies and violels and other flowers lent colour to the tables, which also bore the association’s colours carried out in crossed ribbon streamers of blue and white. In making the presentation to Mrs. Fuller and Mrs. Cowen, Air. Kent spoke of the untiring - assitance given and keen interest taken in all the association’s activities by them. After dinner the guests were entertained with musical items and competitions. Misses Merle Farland, P. MDawson and E>. Cowen and Air. 11. Fryer-Raisher contributing items. Hamlin, figured ring velvet; Mrs. Nash, cherry chenille georgette; Aliss Lowe, deep cream lace; Aliss Bestic, Venetian blue georgette. Aliss Hays, in eau de nil taffeta; Aliss white panne velvet; Aliss Nealis, blue satin and lace; Aliss Whitelaw, blue taffeta and silver lacef Miss AI. Raisher, blue satin and silver lace; Miss H. Dickeson, green georgette; Miss N. Snelling, lavender georgette; Aliss D. Leighton, ankle-length briar pink crepe do chine; Aliss N. Herbert, flame taffeta and silver lace; Aliss D. Longworth, apple green crepe de chine; Aliss V. Derham, ivorv georgette with shell pink georgette; Aliss M. Weeks, eau de nil taffeta; Miss T.
