COMPENSATION SETTLED A settlement was reached -by conference yesterday in the action, in which a watersider, Thomas Costello (Mr. Sullivan). sued the Union Steam Ship Company.. Ltd., for compensation for a strained heart, which he suffered during the unloading of the Wingatui. The accident occurred on September 12 last year, Costello injuring himself in attempting to lift a heavy weight. The court entered judgment foxplaintiff by consent, for full compensation up to date, and for 45 per cent, of permanent disability for the remainder ca. the period, together with costs.
