For the second day of the Victoria Racing Club’s Grand National meeting there was beautiful weather. The chief results were: Trial Steeplechase. —Maxownit. 10.2, Howson, 1; Mowgli, 11.1, Zeally, 2; Sir Carillion, 9.2, Dynon. 3. Eleven started, and only four finished. Won by five lengths. Six'lengths between second and third horses. Time. 4.95. Steeplechasers’ Flat Race. —Ancient Mariner, 9.3, Inkson, 1; Bang Bang. 9.3, Winks, 2; Good Whisky, 9.7. Lynch, 3. Eight started. Won by two lengths. Three lengths between second and third. Time, 3.43 U
