EMPRESS, NEWTON
At the Empress Theatre the headline attraction is the British picture, “Splinters,” that has had such a phenomenal run at local theatres already. It is a wartime revue, as organised at the front during the World War, and many of the original actors are in the cast. It is full of humour, and the singing and “skits” are exceptional. This picture should be seen by every Britisher, and especially by those who were at the front or who had their sons lighting for the Empire during the dark days of 1914-1918. “Lucky Boy,” George Jessel’s tuneful singing picture, is also being shown.
