WRESTLING CARNIVAL
MAT SPORT AT HUNTLY From, Our Own Correspondent HUNTLY, Today. Mr. AY. C. E. George presided at the meeting of the Huntly branch of the Xew Zealand Wrestling Association, held last night. The South Auckland delegates present were Messrs. AY. C. E. George (president), Colonel Plugge and AY. Waring (Taupiri), G. Avev (Ngaruawahia), C. B. Clarke (Rangiriri), AY. Clout (Rotowaro), AY. Davies, D. King, R. Henderson (Huntly) and Mr. C. B. McCarthy, secretary of the New Zealand Association. Mr. McCarthy addressed the meeting in reference to the forthcoming carnival at Huntly on July 11, and the star bout will be between George Walker and probably Ecklund. Walker will be a certainty, and his appearance here will be a big draw. Amateur preliminaries will be supplied from Auckland, and one from Huntly. Prospects for the coming initial contest are distinctly good, and the success of the movement is assured in the mining town.
