RELIEF FIXTURE
AUCKLAND CLUB’S MOVE schedule; next week The committee of the Auckland Trotting Giub will next week frame the programme for the special meeting to be staged for the unemployment relief fund. The fixture will probably be held at the end ot August and beginning of September and this step will be greatly appreciated by owners and trainers throughout the province. It will give them encouragement to prepare their charges earlier than would otherwise bo the case in this locality, and the racing at that period will have the effect of finding the pacers and trotters well forward for the October fixtures of the Waikato, Whangarei and Auckland clubs. The programme may be based similarly to that presented last. August for the earthquake relief fund, although the principal items will probably be a shade tighter than on that occasion. At the earthquake meeting £1,825 was given in stakes for seven events. In addition to this two handsome trophies were donated, Messrs. A. Kohn, Limited, presenting a cabinet of cutlery and crystal, valued at £55, and Messrs. Walker and Hall giving a cabinet of crystal of the value of £4O. The card on that occasion was a»s follows: Karamea Trot, of £175; 1J miles* 3.45 limit. Murchison Handicap, of £175; miles; 3.36 limit. Westport Handicap, of £SOO (and £55 trophy); 2 miles; 4.36 limit. Seddonvill© Handicap, of £175; 2 miles; 4.47 limit. Matakitaki Handicap, of £250; 1$ miles; 2.47 limit. Nelson Trot, of £3OO (and £4O trophy); 2 miles; 4.44 limit. Grey Handicap, of £250; 1 mile; 2.15 limit.
