DEPUTATION FOR WELLINGTON HOUSING CULTURAL SOCIETIES A deputation will wait on the Hon H. Atmore, Minister of Education !• Wellington next week to further the claims for the estab.ishment of r faculty of fine arts for the Auckland University. A proposal has been made to ertc’ a fine arts block on the site of the o’’ Grammar School building in Svmond. Street. It is hoped to provide in the blociaccommodation for the Society of Arp and a new art gallery for the city | r addition to accommodation for nui«! ical and theatrical societies, thus bringing the whole of the cultura’ bodies of the city under one roof. The deputation will be led by Si, George Fowlds and will consist of r«, resentatives of the Auckland TTniversib College and the Auckland Cit : , Council.
