PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
MONTHLY MEETING OF SOCIETY ! The monthly meeting of the women’s committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, was held in the society’s room, Dilworth Buildings, on Wednesday evening, when plans were enthusiastically discussed for giving prominence to the work of the society in animal welfare week, and to augment the fund already opened for providing a lost dogs’ home. It was decided to meet weekly in the society’s room on Tuesday afternoons, members undertaking to contribute a small sum weekly, or bring in a book for sale or loan, and to make artie’es for sale. Some beautiful oddments were brought by Aliss Emily Rendell for distribution among workers. Owing to sickness, the honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs. AlcShane, sent in her resignation, and Miss E. Moon was elected honorary secretary and Mrs. J. J.
