CRYSTAL PALACE, MT. EDEN
The Duncan Sisters in “It’s a Great Life” is the attraction at the Crystal Palace Theatre.
There is a great deal of comedy in the picture, and just enough pathos to make the whole thing well flavoured. In a way, the story tells much of the personal life struggle of the Duncans In their spectacular climb up the ladder of the show business. Numbers that you will remember are “Following You,” ‘‘Sailing On a Sunbeam,” “The Hoosier Hop,” “It Must Be An Old Spanish Custom,” “Won’t You Be My Lady Love?” and “The Sun of a May Morning.” Larry Gray is splendid as “Jimmy.” Jed Prouty does his usual good work as “Parker,” and Rubin is excellent as “Friedman,” the vaudeville booking agent. Technicolour scenes add greatly to the spectacular qualities of the production.
From Saturday the Crystal Palace will screen the big musical comedy success “Hit the Deck.”
