BASKETBALL DANCE
OTAHUHU CLUB HOLDS GAY’ ANNUAL FUNCTION MULTI-COLOURED STREAMERS DECORATE HALL The Otahuhu Public Hall was prettily decorated with coloured streamers on Monday evening when the Otahuhu Basketball Club held its annual dance. An enjoyable programme of dance music was contributed by Len Meredith’s Orchestra. The duties of master of ceremonies were carried out by Mr. W. Wells, and several extras were played by Miss M. Seel and Mr. Allison. Gaiety was added to the function ‘ with a number of novelty dances. Among those present were: Mrs. H. T. Clements, wearing a frock j of bottle-green satin beaute, with flounce ; of lace: Mrs. G. W. Pearce, whose frock j was of lichen green ring velvet, wit a shawl to tone: Mrs. J. T. Flood, who wore 1 black embossed georgette, with handsome shawl; Mrs. Mathias, frocked in black ring velvet; Mrs. Dickson, in a frock of pervenche crepe de chine and silver; Miss Chris Gardiner, who was wearing a frock of black pointed lace over phlox pinn satin, relieved with large bow at back; Miss Maude Jeffries, frock of cerise georgette, with gold lace trimming; Miss M. Seel, turquoise blue satin beaute, with uneven hemline, embroidered in silver; Miss F. Phillips, whose frock was of palest pink satin, with ankle-length ovevskirt of silk net, relieved with diamante trimming; Miss M. Pinliey, in peacock green crepe de chine, relieved at waistline with posy. j Miss L>. Reeves, who chose orchid pink, j with two-tiered skirt: Miss Hilda Dick- ; son, wistaria georgette: Miss S. Douch, ; whose frock was of salmon pink taffeta, with hem of lace: Miss K. Lees, niV green velvet, with flowers of net, featuring an uneven hemline; Miss Jean Payne, whose dainty frock was of lemon taffeta; Miss J Gordon, apricot crepe de chine frock, with shawl to tone; Miss Ethel Search field, in a frock of sea green crepe de chine; Miss M. Ogilvie. wearing a frock of blush rose charmeuse: Miss Eva Search field, who wore a frock of daffodil crepe de chine; Miss Rona Boneham, in carmine ring velvet, with silver trimmings. Miss E. Pearce, who wore apricot taffeta, with uneven hem: Miss I. Ryburn, salmon pink panne velvet, with diamante trimmings. Miss Nettie Cook in a frock of pa»e green satin beaute, worn under tulle: Miss Ambrose, coral pink lace, finished v, ith bow: Miss Jean Clark, wearing a frock of patterned panne velvet: Miss Jovee McLachlan, opal blue floral satin; Miss M. Ogilvie, frock of black oequined georgette; Miss M. Lippiatt, lily of the valley green silk, with reliefs of golden medallions; Miss I. King, wearing a frock of apricot satin beaute: Miss M. Finol, turquoise blue taffeta and silver; Miss M. McAnultv, delphinium blue georgette, worn over orchid pink satin: Miss Cerda Moller, who wore a frock of patterned velvet; Miss V. Brennan, eau de nil green crepe de chine; Miss M. Wells, coral pink georgette reaching to ankle length. Miss Rita Clarke, who wore beige crepe de chine and lace, with skirt drooping to ankle length; Miss Eva Matthews, twilight blue satin, with shoulder posy to match: Miss Anne Cook,, whose froclc was of black lace, relieved with violets: Miss L. King, black taffeta, relieved with carmine shoulder posy: Miss O. Hebden, in a frock of ivory pleated crepe de chine; Miss M. Mathews, black panne velvet, ankle-length frock, relieved with red posy; Miss Z. Morgan, gendarme blue satin and georgette; Miss T. T-widie. ashes of roses satin apd silver brocade; Miss O. Mathias, whose frock was of apricot taffeta; Miss Ethel Cornelius. wild rose rayon, with gold trimmings; Miss D. Bowling, rose du barri crepe de chine .and silver lame; Miss E. Pearson, camfo pink satin, relieved with silver; Miss E. Whale, apricot taffeta with uneven hemline; Miss R. Thomasen, electric blue crepe cTe chine, with rhinestone trimmings; Miss Rita Hart, wearing a frock of floral chiffon.
