1,600 UNDISCHARGED AUCKLAND TOTAL LOWER There are more than 1,600 undischarged bankrupts in the Dominion today, according to an official list published last week in the “Gazette.” These include all adjudicated bankrupt during the three years ended March 31 who had not then secured their discharge. Fewer bankruptcies in the Auckland district marked the opening five months of this year, as compared with returns for the same period of 1929. There have been 50 bankruptcies against 70 last year. On the other hand, an increase of one is noted for tire month of May. The following table shows the number of bankruptcies for the first five months of the past three years:
