VICTORIA, DEVONPORT

Such an irresistible combination as a gripping detective story, filmed and recorded in Cuba and aboard a liner at sea, and portrayed by a notable cast, in which Lola Lane and Paul Page have leading roles, is sure to make “The Girl from Havana,” now at the Victoria Theatre, Devonport, a most popular attraction. This all-talking Fox Movietone drama, which concerns a jewel robbery in Los Angeles, and the pursuit and undoing of a gang of “society crooks,” who escape on a steamer bound for Havana, by a clever girl sleuth, is said to be one of the most thrilling pictures yet presented. It was made at the actual scenes of the various incidents, and many picturesque backgrounds, as well as the typical sounds and dialogue, were obtained in and around Havana and on the high seas.
